build it up

bumped into these shoes today
sculptural / architectural form again

they are from United Nude Shoes, founded by Rem D Koolhaas
the nephew of the great architect Rem Koolhaas!

some of them are really cool
but some of them are just... hahaha, stupid

i like this with facets!!!
it looks exactly like crocs lol

these last two are old lady's shoes..?

architecture x fashion, again

well, as an architecuture student and fashion lover
i m always excited when seeing them crossing over

there are quite a number of crossover these recently years
the most frequent one must be Zaha Hadid, for melissa, puma and the unforgettable Chanel Mobile Art thing
another one i rmb is Franky Gehry for Tiffany

but these things always are so superficial
i mean
they only inject their personal architecture style into the fashion items
it is only about the FORM
and on some runway items
they call them architectural only becoz the dresses are of volume

but the following one is different
thou it is not designed by an architect
but the artist is inspired by Santiago Calatrava, one of the most influential architect for designing bridges.
the shoes are supported by structure likes bridge's
they are so elegant but strong
love them so much

Tea Petrovic inspired by Santiago Calatrava

i think you should know the architect's work too :D

simple is elegant

some perfume
which i think is very simple yet elegant
and
architectural

Dsquared2 - wood

house of steel and wood - berlinda tato&jose luis vallejo - austria

issey miyake - a scent
the first time i see a design using the thickness to vary the volume,
how genius!

perter zumthor - art museum bregenz, austria

alexa lixfeld from hamburg  - fragrance

le corbusier - unite d'habitation - marseille

i do like collecting perfume, esp for the pretty bottles :D
issey miyake's one is in my wish list now, but it is way over budget..

i recall my perfume's criteria for purchase
scent 50%  bottle 30%  brand 10%  shopping impulse 10%
thats why i haven't buy the ck2u which i think the scent is very special to me
its bottle is way too ugly...........
thats why i think anna sui is very ridiculous in producing a few fragrance with the same bottle deisgn but of different colours, ugggg, even the scents are similar!!

mcqueen is more than anything

i know i haven't been posting SS2010 runway shows for a long time
school work is heavy...
however, it is crazily impossible not to look at the show of Alexander Mcqueen
(i know i m late here, ha)
the forever genius
o no, this video is fabulous

you can see the softness of the fabric when it moves
how fit are they merging the models
but the figure and texture remind strong and powerful
i still think it looks a bit like starwar princess
although mcq was inspired by darwin
(darwin should be very pleased in heaven when he knows this!!!)
the colour, snake skin mutation and transformation of colours
and not to mention the elegant emergence of the "corn-like" beadings
they are totally insanely beautiful

snake skin transformation

corn-like beadings

star war princess?

shoes
everyone wants to get one, yes, one is ok, a pair is not defy! ha!
although it is not wearable, to me
but no one is not happy having one as sculpture at home, right?
oh, they tragger me to rush to learn ceramics
wouldn't it be fun to make crazy shoes out of ceramics? yada!!

this reminds me of "architecture facade"

melting, black has a clearer effect
