france recall

i do miss my last holiday in europe...
(and do need to celebrate the paris fashion week right? ha!)
so i made myself some crepes this morning!
it is my first attempt, and luckily i succeeded! :D
thanks to the great recipe and guidance from martha stewart.

they remind me my couchsurfing host in Munich
who made us a great breakfast in his kitchen
oh... my holiday, i miss you

basic french crepe (make 6 regular sized crepes)
(adopted from all recipe, martha stewart)

Ingredients:

  • 125 g all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 120 ml milk (i add more to make the batter thinner, to the liquidity like whipping cream)
  • 120 ml water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 30 g butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Fillings:

bananas, melted chocolate/nutella, ground cinnamon, butter, coaster sugar, jam, etc.

1. Sift flour and salt and put aside.
2. Mix eggs and milk in a mixing bowl with electric mixer, do not over mix.
3. Pour in flour and mix them well with the wet mixture at the same time, just until smooth and no slumps of flour.
4. Stir in the melted butter and vanilla extract.

5. Put the batter aside for 30mins to let the air bubbles out.
6. Ladle the batter into a hot, lightly buttered nonstick skillet, turning and tilting it in a slow, circular motion to spread the batter evenly.

7. Heat until both sides of the crepe turn slightly brown.
